Michelle was born and raised in Sarnia.  She attended Northern Collegiate where she graduated as an Ontario Scholar and received a Nova scholarship.  She later graduated form Wilfred Laurier University in 1998 with an honours bachelor of arts degree in psychology.  Michelle obtained her LL.B. from the University of Manitoba in 2001 and was called to the bar on September 30th, 2002 after a year of articling.

Michelle is Vice President of the Lambton Law Association and an active member in a number  of other professional organizations.  Michelle is also involved with a number of community organizations and is on the Board of Directors of the Sarnia-Lambton Crimestoppers.
